Continuous backups in Scalefield use an incremental approach starting from a base backup, followed by continuous archiving of WAL (Write-Ahead Log) segments, enabling point-in-time recovery (PITR), which is required for the Create from Backup feature. To access these settings, navigate to the service page, open the Backups tab, then select the Continuous section.
Once enabled, the following settings can be configured:
- Base backup time — the scheduled time at which a new base backup is taken.
- Retention period — number of days to retain backups for recovery.
The additional info panel displays:
- The selected base backup time in both UTC and local time
- The total size of currently stored backups
